Save-A-Lot and UPS Stores--Community Supporters

E-mail Print PDF

Save-A-Lot owners Jeff and Melissa Proulx present the Potsdam Humane Society with a $3,000 check from the "Round-Up Your Total for the PHS Animals" in October of this year. The three area Save-A-Lot stores in Gouverneur, Ogdensburg and Potsdam participated. Jeff and Melissa would like to thank all three communities for their support of the Potsdam Humane Society.

The Proulxs are faithful supporters of the animals and programs of PHS, and also recently generously donated the Society's holiday appeal cards which were printed at the UPS Store in Potsdam.

Mike's Trophies on the Canton-Potsdam Road has completed a series of recognition plaques,  which are displayed at the Potsdam Animal Shelter at 17 Madrid Ave. in Potsdam.
Pictured is Jen Middlemiss, super designer, who has done a great job in artfully tailoring each job to the right sized oak plaque. The one pictured is a memory plaque for the kitten display in the reception area of the shelter.
The PHS Board would like to thank Cathy Walker and Jen Middlemiss at Mike's Trophies for being so great to work with, going above and beyond the norm for an outstanding finished product.  Drop by the shelter and take a look at their works of art!

Sullivan's Office Supply Remedies PHS's Printing Problems

(L to R) Jessica Slappar LVT; Alysia Wells, Executive Director; Sullivan's Office Supply CEO, Tom Sullivan; and Bonnie Peryer, PHS Receptionist, are all smiles now that the office has a new copier and a new printer.

Tom Sullivan donated a used commercial copier, which will make copies faster and more affordably. He also sold the Humane Society a "heavy duty" printer "at cost". Everyone at PHS thanks SOS for their generous support. With the larger new animal shelter, more paperwork is necessary. PHS needed to upgrade to commercial models that are more economical and withstand the extra use. With this generous "boost" from Sullivan's, they could finally afford to make the change.

A new fundraising group called the Friends of the Potsdam Humane Society (FoPHS) was given a big boost by LaValley Real Estate. On October 19th, the FoPHS hosted an open house at the Potsdam Animal Shelter to greet new friends of the animals. Advertising for the event was sponsored by Jim LaValley of LaValley Real Estate.

Todd Truax and Craig Bafford of B99.3 radio livened things up by broadcasting live from the animal shelter event. Dogs and cats joined the group for the festivities.
