Seedcorn Announces Gift to Potsdam Humane Society in Memory of Ruth Beebe

In memory of long time Seedcorn Council member and Potsdam Humane Society supporter, Ruth Beebe, Seedcorn is donating $1,000 towards the Humane Society’s capital campaign.

The Potsdam Humane Society in now in the second phase of its capital campaign to renovate and expand its animal shelter. As part of this campaign, there are "naming opportunities" that provide a means of recognizing individual or collective donations. Ten challenge gifts have been established to raise $5,000 each in honor of community leaders, animal lovers and those who exemplify respect for life and humane values. Names of those being honored will be listed in one of two cat rooms. The donation Seedcorn is making will be used to establish one of these special challenge gifts to commemorate the memory of Ruth Brace Beebe, a cat-lover and long-time supporter of the Potsdam Humane Society.

Robert Jewett, a member of Seedcorn, and a board member of the Potsdam Humane Society, will coordinate the effort to build upon Seedcorn's donation and reach the $5,000 goal. "I believe there will be strong support from individuals and groups for whom Ruth and the Potsdam Humane Society hold a special place in the heart", said Jewett.
